About Me
At the start it is worth mentioning that massage is not my full time occupation. I have a professional career which most of the time is very stressful and involves work away from home. Massage is a hobby but I have been told many times I have a genuine gift and want to share it with others.
About 20 years ago I first experienced a massage whilst on holiday in Malaysia and discovered the many positive effects it had.
Myself receiving massage in Koh Samui (Thailand 2008)
On returning home I vowed to have a massage at least once a month but had difficulty finding somewhere where I felt comfortable. I tried salons but found them female and beauty orientated. Gyms where sports massage was offered were quite noisy and also mobile masseurs came to my home but it was always difficult to relax.
All this has influenced my philosophy on massage and I now try to offer what I was so desperately searching for myself:- A confidential, relaxing environment where you can come and receive a massage tailored to your personal needs. Before the first massage we have a short chat, not only to ascertain your expectations but also so we get to know each other a little more. I like to feel that I am working with a person rather than just a body!
My Qualifications:
Initially I started undertaking a number of short 'taster' courses in massage and was continually told that I had a genuine gift.
Following this I embarked on full scale nationally recognised qualifications over a number of years in order to gain insurance and practice professionally. I am a full member of the Guild of Holistic Therapists
I now hold qualifications in Swedish massage (Diploma), Anatomy and Physiology (Diploma) Thai Massage (Certificate and Diploma), Thai Sports Massage (Diploma) Deep Tissue Massage (Diploma) and Thai Foot Massage (Certificate) from VTCT, London School of Thai Massage and Integrated Body Dynamics Academy. I am regularly updating my skills and qualifications and have recently undertaken some advanced courses in Chiang Mai Thailand
